A Study of Insulin Efsitora Alfa (LY3209590) Compared With Insulin Degludec in Participants With Type 2 Diabetes Currently Treated With Basal Insulin

The reason for this study is to see if the study drug insulin efsitora alfa (LY3209590) is safe and effective in participants with Type 2 diabetes that have already been treated with basal insulin.

Key Requirements

Clinical trials have inclusion and exclusion requirements to determine which individuals qualify for participation. Listed below are key requirements for this clinical trial, but there may be additional requirements to qualify.

Participants Must:

  • Participants must have type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)

  • Participants must be receiving basal insulin

  • Participants may be taking other medications to treat diabetes if they are allowed during the study

  • Acceptable non insulin glucose lowering therapies may include 0 to up to 3 of the following:

    • dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP-4) IV inhibitors

    • SGLT2 inhibitors

    • alphaglucosidase inhibitors or,

    • Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist

  • Participants must be willing to stay on stable dose throughout the study

Participants Must Not:

  • Participants must not have type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM)

  • Participants must not have lost or gained weight in the last 3 months

  • Participants must not have known liver disease
